Celebrity psychology show 'Head
Case' is worth your time
Alexandra Wentworth stars
as the “It” therapist to the stars. Dr. Elizabeth Goode
is judgmental, unconventional and could use a good shrink herself.
Her days are filled with a “who’s who” client
list from the world of entertainment, sports, and music.
Veteran comedian Steve
Landesberg (“Barney Miller”) stars as Goode’s
office partner Dr. Myron Finkelstein.
Special guests making appearances on the couch this season include:
Jeff Goldblum, David Alan Grier, Jason Lewis, Joel Madden, Cindy
Margolis, Andy Dick, and Jonathan Silverman.
The first episode that
I watched was episode three called “A Tard For All Seasons.”
Andy Dick makes an appearance and struggles with time management
and alcohol, while Pamela Adlon takes matters into her own hands
when her session is taken over by Andy Dick. After receiving some
advice from Lola (Michelle Arthur) Goode’s receptionist, Jeremy
Berger (Rob Benedict) cooks up a scheme to get back together with
Dr. Goode.
The second episode I
watched is Episode four called “Goode Vibes.” Dr. Goode
(Wentworth) convinces new dad Joel Madden that there is more to
life than his music and band. Officemate Dr. Finkelstein (Landesberg)
is rocked by a surprise visitor from his past. And the senior class
of Beverly Hills High School invites Dr. Goode to be a guest and
talk about her work as a therapist.
I thought his show was
very humorous with a well-developed story line and plot. This series
reminds me a little of Curb Your Enthusiasm written and directed
by the Seinfeld creator Larry David. I enjoyed the celebrity cameos
and I’m very interested in watching on the Starz channel to
see what new celebrity is making an appearance. I like the fact
that Dr. Goode is an eccentric therapist that has more problems
then her clients. But together all their problems are dealt with
in a 30-minute session.
