Farrah Fawcett's death shocked the world on Thursday at around 9:18 a.m. Just a few hours later, the King of Pop Music -- Michael Jackson passed away at 2:26 p.m. Pacific Time. Two stars dead on the same day. What a tragedy. It was just two days ago when Johnny Carson sidekick Ed McMahon died. The entire world mourns the passing of three very famous stars. All three stars died in the Los Angeles area.

Michael Jackson was born on Aug. 29, 1958 and was the seventh child of the Jackson family. He debuted at the age of 11 as a member of the Jackson 5 and began a solo career in 1971. Five of his solo records are among the best-selling in the world: Off the Wall (1979), Thriller (1982), Bad (1987), Dangerous (1991) and HIStory (1995). The popularity of his music videos on MTV gave him additional fame. Jackson was known for the moonwalk. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice. Sales of his albums reached 750 million worldwide. Jackson won 13 Grammy Awards.

Jackson collapsed at his home in Los Angeles due to cardiac arrest. After being taken to the UCLA Medical Center in a coma, he was pronounced dead at 2:26 p.m. Pacific Time on June 25. He was reportedly about 120 pounds, severely underweight for his age at the time of his death. Jackson was set to start a 50-city concert tour later this summer.

Farrah Fawcett was born on Feb. 2, 1947 and was a multiple Golden Globe and Emmy Award nominee. She was a private investigator in the popular TV series Charlie's Angels in 1976. Fawcett won lots of praise for her 1983 role in the off-Broadway play Extremities. She was chosen by Robert Duvall to play his wife in the independent film, The Apostle. Fawcett made several appearances on the TV series Ally McBeal.

She was diagnosed with anal cancer in 2006 and later started treatment. The Associated Press reported that Fawcett was cancer free on her 60th birthday. In 2007, a doctor found a polyp in the area she was treated for cancer. On June 25, 2009, Fawcett died in the intensive care union of Saint John's Health Center in Santa Monica, California at 9:28 a.m. Pacific Time.

Ed McMahon was born in Detroit on March 6, 1923 and was a comedian, game show host, announcer and TV personality. He is famously known as Johnny Carson's sidekick on The Tonight Show for 30 years. McMahon would famously say "Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeere's Johnny!" He also served as host of TV's Star Search from 1983 to 1995. More recently, he did commercials for American Family Publishers, a sweepstakes company.

He was sickened by toxic mold on April 20, 2002. In 2007, McMahon was injured from a fall. In March 2008, he was reportedly recovering from a broken neck and two surgeries. On Feb. 27, 2009, word came out that McMahon was in a Los Angeles hospital for about a month. He died on June 23, 2009 just after midnight at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles. McMahon was fighting pneumonia, bone cancer and other medical problems just before his death.
