The Hidden Truth Behind Photographer and DetroitCountryMusic.com Founder Larry Garcia

DETROIT -- You may have smiled for a picture for him at a concert. He is the founder of DetroitCountryMusic.com and he books many of the local bands for the Downtown Hoedown and other country music concerts. His name is Larry Garcia. What you may not know is that he has been in and out of prison twice over the last 15 years. Garcia is a middle-aged white male with short grey hair and a beard. He was imprisoned for seven charges and was just discharged from parole near the beginning of this year.

Garcia is the official photographer for nine concert venues including the Royal Oak Music Theatre, Freedom Hill Amphitheatre, The Emerald Theatre, Andiamo Showroom and others. You may also see him taking pictures at country music concerts, fairs and festivals. He does select shows at the Palace of Auburn Hills, DTE Energy Music Theatre, Fox Theatre and the Gem Theatre.

He went to prison from 1993 to 1994 and from 1998 to 2000, according to a Michigan Department of Corrections (MDOC) spokesperson. Garcia was on parole from 2000 to 2009. The photographer was discharged from parole on February 24.
