57th Annual Livonia Spree Is Now Underway

Each year, the Livonia Spree is held on the birthday of the city's founding. It is a week-long festival with entertainment, rides, food and fun for the entire family. It is located at Ford Field near the intersection of Farmington Road and Stark Road.

The Spree is being held from Tuesday, June 19th through Sunday, June 24th. Hours for Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday are from 2 p.m. until 11 p.m. The Spree is open from Noon to 11 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

On Thursday, June 21st, the Mapapa African Acrobats will perform on the Spree grounds at 3:30 p.m., 6 p.m., and 8:30 p.m. Welde's Big Bear Show will entertain the kids at 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. on the Spree grounds. Trilogy will perform on the Labatt Stage from 7 p.m. until 11 p.m. Cruzin Jupiter will be at the Bright House Networks Tent from 7 p.m. until 11 p.m.

On Friday, June 22nd, the Mapapa African Acrobats and Welde's Big Bear Show will be back. Cirque Amongus will perform in front of the Labatt Stage at 5:30 p.m. The Diamondback Dancers will entertain the crowd from 6:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Labatt Stage. Then, Derringer will sing on the Labatt Stage from 7:00 p.m. until 11 p.m. Derringer is a local country band that performs each week at the Diamondback Salloon in Belleville. Ken Dumm will keep you entertained at the Bright House Networks tent at 5 p.m. Men in Black will perform at the Bright House Networks Tent from 7 p.m. until 11 p.m.

On Saturday, June 23rd, Brad Bodary, a mime, will be on the Spree grounds from 12:00 p.m. until 9 p.m. Cats & Fiddler will perform on the Labatt Stage from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. The Saline Fiddlers will make their first performance at the Spree in front of the Labatt Stage from 3:30 p.m. until 5:15 p.m. Cats & The Fiddler will perform again at 4 p.m. Cirque Amongus will keep the crowd entertained at 5:30 p.m. on the Labatt Stage. Scoot Magoo will sing on the Labatt stage for the first time at the Spree from 7 p.m. until 11 p.m. Ken Dumm will keep you entertained at the Bright House Networks tent at 2 p.m., 4 p.m., and 5 p.m. Fifty Amp Fuse will perform in the Bright Houst Networks tent from 7 p.m. until 11 p.m.

On Sunday, June 24th, there will be a Livonia Freedom Run beginning at 7 a.m. You can register for the run at justrayrun.com. A Classic car show will take place on the Spree grounds from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. To register for the classic car show, click here.

Brad Bodary, a mime will be roaming the Spree grounds from 12 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Sunday. Like Water Drum & Dance will perform on the Labatt Stage from 3 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. Cirque Amongus will keep you entertained in front of the Labatt Stage at 5 p.m. Replay will perform on the Labatt Stage from 6:30 p.m. until 10:30 p.m. Ken Dumm will keep you entertained at the Bright House Networks tent at 2 p.m., 4 p.m., and 5:30 p.m. Decades will perform in the Bright House Networks tent from 6:30 p.m. until 10:30 p.m. Steve King & The Dittilies will perform from 7:15 p.m. until 11:15 p.m. on Baseball Diamond #1. Rocks Gang will perform from 7:15 p.m. until 11:15 p.m. on Baseball Diamond #2.

The Taste of the Livonia Spree will be held inside Eddie Edgar Arena on Thursday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Advance tickets are required and can be purchased for $10 from the City Treasurer's Office, Parks & Recreations Office and from Community Choice Credit Union.

Don't forget about Fireworks on Sunday at dark. They will begin at approximately 10:15 p.m. Bring your lawn chairs or blankets and get ready to watch the sky light up! It's a great time for family and friends. You can see it from Ford Field or anywhere along the I-96 Service Drive (Schoolcraft Rd.).

Additional parking is avilable at the Livonia City Hall. A FREE shuttle will take you from the City Hall to the Spree during hours of the festival. Remember, NO rollerblades, skateboard, bicycles, alcohol or animals are allowed at the Spree.

All-day ride bracelets are $22 at the festival. You can purchase a sheet of 25 tickets for $12 at Community Choice Credit Union while supplies last. A sheet of 25 tickets will cost you $15 at the festival.

There will be a large number of food tents at the Spree. They are operated by local nonprofit organizations. All the money that you spend at the Civic Food Aisle will be put back into the community.
