'Love Lifted Me' to debut at
1515 Broadway in Detroit
DETROIT -- Serenity
Brooks is known to be an advocate for women's rights, and that advocacy
is shown on the stage in her new play "Love Lifted Me",
which will have three shows this weekend at 1515 Broadway (across
from the Detroit Opera House right off John R at downtown Detroit).
This is the latest production from Hot Property Entertainment, Inc;
the play takes place over the course of a six-day period involving
the people of Rightway Church, when there's more gossiping than
singing and praising the Lord, as domestic violence is the main
focus.
"Love Lifted Me" has an mixture of drama, comedy, divinity,
music, and tragedy, where faith and relationships are not only being
tested, but both are at the brink as well as at a crossroads. Yet
in the middle of all this is the devil, lurking in the shadows,
and he's out to destroy these relationships as well as bring doubt
in their walk with God. However, an angel comes down from Heaven
and sets out to clean up the mess and bring these lost souls back
the "Rightway" with a little bit of hope -- and a little
bit of love.
"Love Lifted Me" will have two shows this Saturday at
1p and 7p, and one show this Sunday at 1p. You'll laugh and cry
yet be inspire and touched by the Holy Spirit at the same time,
for this is both an ministry and an labor of love.
Tickets are at sale $15-20;
