DETROIT -- American Expresstoday announced that it will host a free Luggage Exchange at this year's Ann Arbor Street Art Fair, in which the first 200 people to turn in a used carry-on bag will receive one free full-size designer 29" wheeled, upright suitcase. The luggage exchange is being held in celebration of the recently launched first checked bag free benefit for U.S. Consumer and Small Business Basic Gold, Platinum and Delta Reserve SkyMiles Credit Cardmembers and up to eight passengers on Delta flights. Used bags will be donated to Goodwill Industries of Greater Detroit.

"We want Detroit-area residents to know that they can now check their bag for free on every Delta flight with the Delta SkyMiles Credit Card," said David Rabkin, VP, Delta Co-brand Portfolio, American Express. "What better way to do that than by giving 200 people a brand new full-size bag through this luggage exchange."

To participate, attendees must drop off a functional, gently used luggage to an authorized representative at the designated drop-off point located at the entrance of the Ann Arbor Street Art Fair between 10:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. EDT on July 22, 2010. Participants will then receive one voucher for a complimentary free full-size designer 29" wheeled, upright suitcase, which can be redeemed at the American Express(R) Lounge at the Event. The offer is open to the general public, but limited to the first 200 people to turn in a used bag and one voucher per person.

First Checked Bag Free Benefit
The Luggage Exchange event is being held in celebration of the recently launched first checked bag free benefit on the Gold, Platinum and Delta Reserve SkyMiles Credit Cards from American Express, which allows Basic Cardmembers to receive a free checked bag on every Delta flight--up to a $50 savings per person on a round trip ticket. The benefit is available to Basic Cardmembers and up to eight passengers traveling in the same reservation as the Basic Cardmember.
