DETROIT
-- To celebrate the debut of McDonald’s Fruit &
Maple Oatmeal, Southeast Michigan McDonald’s will treat 200
commuters to a free breakfast, providing Sweet Harmony to their
morning. On January 12, at Campus Martius Park, located in downtown
Detroit, those traveling by foot or vehicle, from 8-10 a.m., will
receive a free full-size serving of Fruit & Maple Oatmeal and
a cup of Premium Roast Coffee, courtesy of McDonald’s. Offer
valid while supplies last, no purchase necessary.
“McDonald’s
is excited to kick off the new year with the introduction of Fruit
& Maple Oatmeal. It’s portable, affordable and a balanced
breakfast solution,” said Willie Blue, marketing manager for
McDonald’s Michigan Region. “Recognizing many customers
desire to focus on healthy dining options, we’re offering
this complimentary breakfast to help them get their year and morning
off to a wholesome and delicious start.”
Combining
the perfect harmony of flavor, McDonald’s Fruit & Maple
Oatmeal is prepared with 100 percent natural whole grain oats, light
cream and brown sugar, and topped with diced, fresh red and green
apples, tangy dried cranberries and two types of raisins. As an
accompaniment to the breakfast offering, passersby also can enjoy
wonderful entertainment hosted by McDonald’s, including synchronized
skating exhibitions by Team du Coeur and singing by members of Detroit
School of Arts’ Jazz Ensemble.
In addition
to the two-hour free breakfast giveaway, McDonald’s will have
street teams throughout the surrounding Campus Martius area, offering
commuters giveaways, including branded wearables and “Be Our
Guest” cards redeemable for one free Fruit & Maple Oatmeal
at any participating McDonald’s.
“Adding
Fruit & Maple Oatmeal to our menu offerings underscores McDonald’s
continued commitment to meet the changing needs and tastes of our
metro Detroit customers,” added Blue. “With more than
500 McDonald’s restaurants across Michigan, our customers
have the accessibility and opportunity to purchase Fruit & Maple
Oatmeal any time of the day.”
Delivering
two of the three recommended daily servings for whole grains and
about a half cup of fruit, Fruit & Maple Oatmeal is McDonald’s
first new breakfast offering since 2008. As part of McDonald’s
ongoing commitment to customer choice, every bowl of Fruit &
Maple Oatmeal is freshly prepared upon request: customers may order
it with or without brown sugar. Beyond breakfast, Fruit & Maple
Oatmeal is served any time of the day in all of McDonald’s
participating 14,000 restaurant locations in the United States.
