1965 Bronco Gets a Facelift
by Jason Rzucidlo After almost forty years, Ford is bringing back the Bronco. It is a concept sport utility vehicle that was displayed at this years 2004 North American International Auto Show. The Bronco has a 2-liter diesel engine. It has a Nitrous oxide button that you can press to get more horsepower. It comes with suede seats and a sunroof on the inside. The headlights use LED and halogen bulbs. Mahendra Dassanayake is the man who designed the new Bronco. He said that it took three months to design this SUV. Dassanayake said, The Bronco was built in California but some of the parts came from Dearborn. Ford is going to look at the public reaction to determine if it will be put into production or not. This new Bronco looks like a toy. It resembles a box or even better yet, a Hummer. If this Bronco is put into production, it will give the Hummer some competition. The Bronco has 18-inch Goodyear all-terrain tires. The tires resemble ones you would see on a frontloader on a construction site. In the back, there is an 18-inch spare tire attached to the frame. On the control panel, there is a Nitrous oxide button in the interior. Nitrous oxide was first used in World War II to give airplanes a boost in speed. They were also used in the 2001 movie The Fast and the Furious. When the button is pressed, the oxygen thats released allows the engine to burn more fuel. Within three seconds, it will give you 50 more horsepower and 10-15mph more speed.
The Ford Bronco is similar to a semi truck. It runs on diesel fuel instead
of unleaded gasoline. The SUV has automatic transmission but it can also
be switched to manual mode by pressing the button on the steering wheel. On the back of the Bronco, it says Giddyup in the spot where you would put your license plate. This high-powered SUV is one that will take you on the ride of your life. You can drive it through almost any condition imaginable.
