2005 Detroit Auto Show: New Car Reviews GMC Introduces the First Hybrid Pickup Truck
Toyota had the world's first hybrid car, the Prius. Ford had the world's first hybrid SUV, the Ford Escape. GMC has introduced the world's first hybrid Truck, the Sierra. The Sierra will run on a combination of gasoline and battery power. It will be 10% more fuel effiecient than the regular gasoline model. It has four electric outlers to plug in tools, a radio or anything that you like. There are 2 outlets in the back seat of the cab and two in the bed. They are all grounded. They are 120-volt, 20-amp AC power outlets. It comes with a VORTEC 5300 V-8 engine. It has a 4-speed automatic transmission. The maximum horsepower is 295 while the torque is 335. The Sierra can hold a maximum 26 gallons of fuel. The Sierra hybrid comes with an 8 year/100,000 miles warranty. It also has bumper to bumper coverage. I am totally for hybrids. They are a great way to save money while driving the technology of the future. It will help you when you have to go to the gas station. You will be paying almost half the price as you do now. For more information, go to gmc.com/sierra.
