DETROIT
-- The
New Lincoln MKR was manufactured with many earth-friendly
materials. The carpeting is made with mohair, the wood is
recycled, the sea foam is made with soy and the leather was
processed without chemicals.
The MKR runs on
a twin-turbo V6 engine that has direct fuel inject capability.
It provides 415 horsepower and uses E-85 ethanol fuel. It
also comes with 21-inch chrome wheels. The roof is made of
glass that forms the Lincoln star logo in the center.
The head designer
of the MKR was Peter Horbury, the Director of Design for Ford
in The Americas. The luxury sedan has 13 cubic feet of trunk
space and 36.9 inches of rear headroom. IT was designed to
compete with the Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class. Lincoln's new sedan
is coming out in 2008 should look very similar to this one.
"Incapturing
the hallmarks of Lincoln design, with its clean, uncluttered
surfaces, double-wing grille, the Lincoln MKR concept charts
a path toward the future," a product sign reads.
