2008 NAIAS: Concept Cars Reviewed
DETROIT -- Wandering into the NAIAS, we couldn’t help notice that every year the cars resemble each other more. So we turned our attention towards the concept cars, the models that may never hit the streets, but certainly make you want to covet them nonetheless.
PHOTO BY SHEILA FRANKLIN / ©AMERICAJR.com One of our first was the Mazda Taika. Very sleek, very modern, very silver. We just wonder how you change the tire on the thing and also if it was named in honor of Mr. Sulu, even if it is spelled with a slight difference.

We couldn’t really see anything new or outstanding about this model, but we know that if a vehicle is spinning in a circle, it’s very special. Notice the grill, the opulence, the Chinese lettering on the back of the car. We have no doubt that should this concept become a reality, that won’t be on the final model.
PHOTO BY SHEILA FRANKLIN / ©AMERICAJR.com BMW has a Hydrogen 7 Concept that takes away our idea of saving money. We dig the Beamers but they are becoming way too mid-size for our taste. Be that as it may, BMW will always have a fan base, even at a cost of $45,000 - $60,000.

Mini Cooper's may always seem the same with a base price
beginning at early $20,000's, they continue to improve in
little ways. This light is part of the interior of the vehicle,
bright enough to darken even the blackest of tunnels. There
are so many options en toto on them that they might as well

another of the cars-to-be we were impressed by was the Saturn
Flextreme Plug-in. Running on diesel, it can switch to electric
power if the driver so desires. Look in the back and what
appears to be training wheels is in fact two Segways. Push
