The Saturn Flextreme is a plug-in vehicle that can run for 34 miles on its lithium-ion battery before a small diesel engine charges the battery.

To charge the vehicle, just plug it into a standard electrical outlet. The Flextreme should be available by the end of 2010.

The 2009 Saturn VUE Green Line costs $2,000 more than the base model but offers 25% high fuel savings.
