Those are just some of the possible reasons for the
slight dip in attendance at the 2009 North American
International Auto Show, held at Cobo Center in downtown
Detroit. A total of 650,517 people attended the show
including 629,404 people on public days. Attendance
on the final day rose to 92,715 compared with 88,324

shows off its F6DM dual-mode plug-in hybrid vehicle
at NAIAS By

Show, BYD, Build Your Dreams, an auto company from
China debuted the F6DM; a dual-mode electric vehicle.
Showing off a champagne, four-door DM car, BYD fused
electricity and gasoline powered engines. The F6DM
is one of the first vehicles that BYD is using with
the dual-mode concept. The dual-mode concept is the
power for a vehicle to operate with a battery and

shows off 2009 Mustang GT 'Bullitt' at NAIAS

1968 movie Bullitt stars Steve McQueen in
the title role of a tough San Francisco cop assigned
to protect a witness who's going to testify against
the mob. The film is widely known for one of the greatest
car chases ever shown on the big screen, with the
King of Cool in a 390 GT Razorback (top speed: 150
mph) against a black Dodge Charger. In honor of the
40th anniversary, Ford developed the 2009 GT Coupe
Premium Mustang -- nicknamed "Bullitt".

unveils 2010 Circuit electric vehicle in Detroit

looking at the Dodge Circuit at the 2009 North American
International Auto Show, you think of a mini-Viper.
However, think again, for this vehicle is out of pure
electricity with a 268 horsepower, a small engine
generator, and an prototype. The Circuit has a range
of 200 miles: going from zero to sixty in less than
five seconds; 13 in just a quarter of a mil, with

vehicle that is highway legal and zips to 76 mph.
It is an electric car and can go 60 miles on one charge,
it cost $20 for electricity to drive 1,000 miles.

It charges with 110 volt outlet. The car comes in
several colors and when I sat in it, it felt very

V-8 the price is $145,000. This is a production vehicle

car is “100% all American” made in northern

is our first time at the auto show and it’s

Motors is a U.S. company founded in June 2003 in San
Carlos, California by two engineers from the Silicon
Valley. Doreen Allen, National Salesperson, says the
Tesla Roadster Sport went into production in the Spring
of 2008. It is a 100% electric vehicle. The EPA is
a cycled program which determines its miles per charge.
The range is 244 miles combined city/highway on a
single charge. You can plug it in a 110 or 220 outlet.

Ford Flex is updated with many new features

Ford Flex is a seven seat crossover vehicle built
in Oakville, Canada. Jay Ward, the Ford SUV/CUV Communications
Manager, says, "it's a stylish way of moving
seven people." It's a box on box design and very
aerodynamic even though it doesn't look like it. The
rear wheel drive gets 24 mpg and the All Wheel drive
gets 22 mpg. Leather seats are standard. It also has
a voice activated SYNC system which is a safety feature,
so it's hands free. All the seats including the front

all-new 2009 Honda Insight hybrid will make its world

Brilliance
Auto, BMW's Chinese partner, will make its first appearance
at the NAIAS -- and its first appearance at any North
American auto show. BYD, which made its debut at NAIAS

been a leader among North American auto shows in attracting
Chinese automakers to the U.S. At NAIAS 2007, Changfeng
Motor became the first Chinese auto manufacturer to

Drops Out of the NAIAS; Will Not Display in 2009

Suzuki has said no thanks to an offer to display it's
vehicles at the upcoming 2009 North American International
Auto Show in Detroit. The automaker made the move
based on limited space at Cobo Center. Suzuki will
be the second automaker in a row to leave the NAIAS.
Porsche left the NAIAS in 2007 and did not display
the following year. Their decision was based on low

Show comes to Detroit, the Motor City will be ready.

for the national and international media as well as
people from all over the country who wish to see Detroit's
