Disney Pixar's CARS 2 creatives anchor the 2011 AutoWeek Design Forum Lineup
DETROIT -- Two members of the creative team behind some of the most successful animated films by Disney Pixar will speak to Inspiration Behind the Design at the 17th AutoWeek Design Forum.
Brad Lewis and Jay Shuster anchor a day of design insight and inspiration and will talk about their work on CARS 2, due in theaters in summer 2011.
“CARS proved not only to be a design tour de force, but it became a cultural icon, an instant classic,” said Dutch Mandel, AutoWeek associate publisher and editorial director. “CARS 2 will take the franchise to the next level, and we have two of the creative geniuses behind it.”
Lewis joined Pixar Animation Studios in November 2001, bringing with him 20 years of film, theater, television and advertising production expertise. Lewis was the producer of Disney Pixar’s Academy Award®-winning film Ratatouille and is currently directing CARS 2, scheduled for a June 24, 2011, release.
Shuster arrived at Pixar in 2002 as a sketch artist, contributing character and environment designs to John Lasseter’s 2006 film CARS and to Andrew Stanton’s WALL-E in 2008. Shuster is currently art-directing Disney Pixar’s sequel to CARS.
