DETROIT -- Global leading IT and electronic parts manufacturer BYD Auto was at the Detroit Auto Show. The company was founded in February 1995.

A new crop of electric vehicles will launch into the market in 2011. One of them will be the e6 all-electric crossover built by BYD. The e6 is for sale right now in China. Warren Buffet was so intrigued by the battery maker, turned automaker, that he bought 10 percent of the company two years ago.

The company has made and broken a string of deadlines for the launch. BYD Auto had a huge LED screen video about energy and how the company is changing in the future at the Detroit Auto Show. Their Battery Energy Storage Station is the future of energy. It is removable and is distributable. BYD has unattractive black cabinets. They feel this is a huge breakthrough for electric cars.

Green City Solutions is BYD’s dream to bring them affordable renewable energy.

You must store the Sun's power in a station. It is the first step to electrify public transportation.

The S6DM model resembles a Lexus. The dealer that I spoke to said BYD will have cars here “very soon.” Some say their cars look like Toyota and Lexus clones and lawyers will prevent them from ever seeing the U.S. market.

The BYD S6 DM looks a lot like a Lexus!
