then hop on the People Mover for a quick ride to Cobo
Center. It's the fastest way to get around downtown

a 2.9-mile loop around the downtown district. The

Exhibitors, the media to have two less hotels to choose
from for the 2011 NAIAS
Members
of the media and exhibitors will have two fewer hotels
to select from when the 2011 North American International
Auto Show (NAIAS) comes to Detroit in January. Last
year, the Detroit Riverside Hotel closed its doors
just before the start of the 2010 auto show. On Oct.
12, the Omni Detroit Hotel at River Place went out
of business. Although the hotel is only about a mile
away from Cobo Center, it was always busy during the

More automakers coming to 2011 NAIAS as Cobo Center
receives upgrades
The
2011 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS)
show floor is expected to be completely full. Many
automakers that did not display any vehicles in recent
years are coming back to the Motor City in January.
Porsche, Saab, Nissan, Suzuki and Mitsubishi are some
of the automakers that are expected to have displays
at Cobo Center. Meanwhile, upgrades are being made
to Cobo Center to get the building ready for the 2011

The Detroit Electric was one of the first electric
vehicles ever built
This
year, we are kicking off our coverage of the 2011
North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) inside
The Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Mich. The 1922
Detroit Electric was one of the first electric vehicles
ever produced. It is on display inside the museum.
The vehicle was built by the Detroit Electric Car
Company from 1907 to 1942. It is a four-passenger
model 90 coupe. There will be many modern electric
