The
Parade Company seeks applicants for its Princess Scholarship Program

DETROIT –
For its third annual year, The Parade Company is pleased to continue
its Princess Scholarship program. The winner, who is crowned the
America’s Thanksgiving Parade® Queen, will receive $1000
in scholarship money, and the four runner-ups, who will be designated
as the Princess Court, will receive $250 each in scholarship money.
This exciting program
offers more than just a scholarship as the America’s Thanksgiving
Parade® Queen and Princess court will have the opportunity to
ride in the 85th America’s Thanksgiving Parade on the Princess
Fairy Tale float. In addition to being a part of the parade, the
Queen will be crowned during a special Princess Brunch, receive
VIP access to all Parade Company events throughout the year, such
as Target Fireworks VIP Rooftop Party, VIP Pancake Breakfast, Parade
Preview Party and Hob Nobble Gobble®.
Applicants must be full-time
female students, currently enrolled in an accredited college or
university in the State of Michigan, or be a high school senior.
In addition, all applicants must have a cumulative G.P.A. of 3.0
on a 4.0 scale, must be 17-23 years old as of September 9, 2011,
and must be committed to serving as Parade Princess from October
2011 to October 2012.
Applicants are judged
based on academics, campus and community involvement, personality
and knowledge of America’s Thanksgiving Parade, as well as
their completed application and interview. Interested candidates
must fill out the application and pay the $25 application fee to
the Parade Company by September 9, 2011.
Please note that the
winner must be present at the Princess Brunch on Thursday, October
8 in order to win, in addition to being present at the Volunteer
and Interview Day on Saturday, September 17 from 9- 3 p.m. and at
America’s Thanksgiving Parade® from 8 a.m.- 12 p.m.
