DETROIT — Detroit Restaurant Week will return on Friday, September 23 and last through Sunday, October 2 for the fall edition of the popular discount dining promotion. It will again only cost $28 per person for delicious three-course meals at select fine dining spots in Detroit.

It is the fifth time the dining deal will be made available. Detroit Restaurant Week occurs twice a year. The spring 2011 edition broke the record for participation when 18 restaurants reported a combined total of 36,578 people having dined during the 10-evening promotion. That was a 19.6 percent jump when compared to the 2010 fall event that received participation from 29,426.

In total, more than 120,000 people have enjoyed the first four installments of Detroit Restaurant Week, which has generated an estimated minimum of $2.1 million in sales.

La Dolce Vita, Fountain Bistro & Cliff Bell's join Detroit Restaurant Week lineup for fall

21 Detroit restaurants offer $28 per person dinners for 10 nights

DETROIT — Detroit Restaurant Week adds three new establishments to its lineup for fall — La Dolce Vita, Fountain Bistro and Cliff Bell’s — bringing the number of restaurants participating in the $28 per person three-course dinner deal to 21. Detroit Restaurant Week is Friday, September 23 – Sunday, October 2.

Two of the new restaurants, Cliff Bell’s and Fountain Bistro, offer French inspired dishes, while La Dolce Vita offers cuisine that represents the traditions of both southern and northern Italy. Besides terrific food, each restaurant shares the characteristic of being able to offer a unique and distinct atmosphere diners will truly appreciate.

La Dolce Vita, located at 17546 Woodward Avenue on the north side of Detroit near the Palmer Woods neighborhood, is set inside a simple green building with purple awnings, but upon entering guests fall in love with the charming patio and romantic metropolitan dining room.

Fountain Bistro is located at 800 Woodward Avenue on the grounds of beautiful Campus Martius Park. The Bistro’s floor to ceiling windows offer a fantastic view of the luscious park grounds and spectacular fountain that shoots water in excess of 100 feet into the air.

Cliff Bell’s, located at 2030 Park Avenue., is a jazz and supper club complete with great music, vaulted ceilings, cozy booths and an Art-Deco ambiance from the 1930s.

Paul Howard, co-owner of Cliff Bell’s believes his restaurant participating in Detroit Restaurant Week will be an opportunity to “share our passion for food with metro Detroit along with our classic cocktails and live entertainment.” Howard went on to say the promotion “provides us the perfect forum to highlight the talents of our executive chef, Matthew Baldridge, and the amazing dishes he prepares.”

La Dolce Vita’s participation is the first time a restaurant not located in the greater downtown Detroit area is participating in the 10 evening promotion.

“Since we established the Detroit Restaurant Week program we were hesitant to expand our restaurant offerings beyond the greater downtown area out of respect for our focus with Downtown Detroit Partnership, but with their support we decided now was a good time to include La Dolce Vita to our strong list of Detroit restaurants,” said Detroit Restaurant Week executive director Jason Huvaere. “We think La Dolce Vita, Cliff Bell’s and the Fountain Bistro will prove to be great additions to promotion. We’re looking forward to another strong campaign.”

Once again for just $28 per person (excluding tax, gratuity, and beverages), people from across the Detroit area and visitors from Windsor Ontario and beyond will be able to enjoy specially-priced three-course dinners at these 21 fine restaurants:
