Monday, 6 December, 2010 10:42 PM 'They Don't Teach Corporate in College' is great for recent grads
This book is about a twenty-something's guide to the business world. It is for the young professional who wants to capture a good job while teaching job-hunting skills in the corporate world. They Don't Teach Corporate in College begins with how to dress for an interview, how to act professional and how to check your attitude at the door. I'm sure you heard this before, "you only have three seconds to make a good impression." Also, what you should say and ask on the interview. While job hunting, she says to get to know the company you are applying for and study every aspect of it. There are different types of bosses in the corporate world. Hopefully the person you work for is a good fit for you. This book also gives you tips on making your workday productive, how to get along with coworkers or people management, how to handle criticism, and moving up the corporate ladder. I found the book to be very enlightening with lots of good ideas. Perhaps it's a book that everyone who is graduating from college should read. OVERALL RATING: A They Don't Teach Corporate in College is available in bookstores everywhere. ISBN#1601630581 Publisher: Career Press; Revised edition (April 20, 2009) Paperback: 288 pages
