W4 Country Hosts "Stuff the Bus" Toy Drive
W4 Country
will be hosting it's annual toys for tots drive from a new location.
No, it's not a mall. It's an Ann Arbor Transportation Authority
city bus. They will be parked outside of the Ypsilanti Wal-Mart
store at 2515 Ellsworth Rd.
The "Stuff
the Bus" toy drive will run from December 12-16, 2005 or until
the bus is completely filled. They will be collecting new, unwrapped
toys for tots and teens. All the toys that are raised will be given
to children in Washtenaw county and the surrounding communities.
The Breakfast
with Bubba Morning Show will broadcast LIVE from the city bus all
next week. Bubba (Brian Cowan) and Katie from the morning show will
be on hand for all the fun and excitement. The goal is to fill the
bus so that Bubba and Katie will have to move out.
W4 Country
program director Rob Walker said, "This event is so
important to the children in the area. We are proud to partner with
such a wonderful organization every year."
Last
year, the radio station collected more than 200,000 toys. Their
"Holiday Crusade for Kids" drive was held during the entire
month of December at Briarwood Mall. Listeners could come inside
and drop of a toy for a needy child.
In previous
years, W4 Country had done Toys for Tots drives at Southland Mall,
Adrian Mall and at the Briarwood Mall most recently. This year,
it will be very different for them. They will be living inside of
this AATA city bus all next week and doing their show LIVE. This
will be W4 Country's third year in a row for helping the U.S. Marine
Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program.
Channel
955, a Clear Channel Affiliate of W4 hosted a similar campaign.
DJ Tik Tak was inside of a city bus in front of Lakeside Mall in
Sterling Heights. He also did his 7-11pm show LIVE from the bus.
