Detroit Wii Gaming Competition To Benefit Coalition on Temporary Shelter

Opportunity offers participants prizes, refreshments and fun - all for a good cause

DETROIT -- Garden Court Condominiums will host "Gaming in the Garden," a Nintendo Wii tournament style gaming competition to benefit the Coalition on Temporary Shelter - Detroit (COTS) on the condo development's roof, Saturday, September 8 and Sunday, September 9, 2007.

Registration will begin at 11 a.m. and competition will commence at noon. A minimum donation of $10 per contestant, $3 per spectator is required to participate in the tournament. Garden Court Condominiums is located at 2900 E. Jefferson at Jos. Campau in Detroit.

" Limited budgets are a very real thing," said Cheryl Johnson, chief executive officer for COTS. "Gaming in the Garden is a gift for us. Gamers can come out and have a great time while helping us achieve our goals of helping homeless people help themselves, truly benefiting the community,
and taking in the awesome atmosphere of the historic Garden Court Building."

COTS helps homeless individuals and families break the cycle of homelessness by addressing the causes of their homelessness through case management and a wide array of supportive services and housing programs. COTS´ programs (Emergency Shelter, Transitional Housing, and Permanent Supportive Housing) are designed to address each individual's needs and circumstances and support them in moving along a continuum from homelessness to housing
and stability. COTS links each client to resources provided by COTS and within the larger community to assist them in breaking the cycle of homelessness.

The tournament will consist of sports competition games including boxing, tennis (doubles), bowling and golf. In each round, participants will attempt to knock out their opponents with their skill, luck and competitive strategies. The overall tournament winners will receive a $100 gift card
to an area electronics retailer. All contestant participants and spectators will be entered for a chance to win a $500 gift card to an area electronics retailer.

Light refreshments will be served and tours of Garden Court Condominiums will be offered. Due to time constraints, competition rounds may be subject to time limits of 20 minutes, with a winner determined by highest number of points at round1s end. Rules subject to change. Further event
information can be obtained by calling (313) 259-2500 or by visiting www.gardencourtcondos.com. Those who would like to pre-register can do so by calling (313) 259-2500 or via email at sales@gardencourtcondos.com.
