Freeway Fritz Restaurant Closed

Bavarian-Themed Style Restaurant in Bridgeport, MI

The Freeway Fritz Restaurant was located at 6560 Dixie Highway in Bridgeport Township, MI.

The restauranted featured world-famous Frankenmuth chicken at a much lower price.

Restaurant owner William Zehnder attributed the closing to the construction work on I-75.

This sign was posted on the front door and indicates the restaurant is closed.

The restaurant also featured a Blimpie sub station and an ice cream station.

The restaurant was popular with truckers and tourists heading north to Saginaw or the Mackinac Bridge.

A Shell gas station that was located on the premises has also closed.
