BROOKLYN,
Mich. -- The Shop Rat Foundation, Michigan Manufactures
Association (MMA) and the Jackson Area Association (JAMA)
Manufacturing have teamed up to raise money for the Shop
Rat Education Program with the "Manufacturers Day
at the Races."
"This
is not just a great networking opportunity for Michigan
Manufacturers," said JAMA Executive Director Bill
Rayl. "It's also an opportunity to celebrate the
importance of manufacturing to Michigan’s economy
and to the world of performance racing. After all, there
wouldn’t be a NASCAR if it weren’t for Michigan
Manufactures!"
For this event,
MIS is offering a special package deal that includes a
ticket to the event, grandstand seat, pre-race pit pass,
access to the event’s hospitality tent, two drink
tickets, lunch, and door prizes including tee-shirts signed
by Carl Edwards, all for $130 per person.
From each ticket
sold $30 will be donated to the Shop Rat Foundation, a
501 (c) 3 non-profit organization. The Shop Rat Education
Program provides hands on skilled trade training to middle
school students. This program allows students to use their
hands and mind to create products that reinforce skill
sets that the program teaches them.
Jack Roush
has been a Shop Rat all of his life. Since Roush was a
child he was always fascinated with how things worked
and was determined to become an innovator. Throughout
his career with Ford, Chrysler, Monroe Community College,
Jack Roush Performance Engineering, and Roush Industries
he has proven that using your mind and your hands can
create an incredible outcome. During the Shop Rat Fundraising
event the Foundation will be presenting Jack Roush with
the 2007 Master Shop Rat of the Year award for his accomplishments
as a Shop Rat.
