Auto Club Speedway salutes Law Enforcement with Special Ticket Package

Auto Club Speedway and the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund (NLEOMF) and have teamed up to offer all law enforcement officers, employees, friends and families a full day of NASCAR racing while honoring officers that have lost their lives in the line of duty. A special Law Enforcement Appreciation ticket package for the March 25th Auto Club 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Auto Club Speedway is available to all law enforcement officers, employees and their friends and families.

Chip Ganassi IndyCar drivers Graham Rahal, 23, and Charlie Kimball, 26, did some testing on Wednesday at the Auto Club Speedway. They managed to get in only a few laps in before it started to downpour and the weather never let up for the remainder of the day. The 2012 IZOD IndyCar Series season kicks off March 25 on the Streets of St. Petersburg. In 2012, the IndyCar series will return to the Streets of Belle Isle in Detroit and the Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, Calif.

Matt Kenseth stops at Pink's Hot Dogs to celebrate his Daytona 500 victory By Jason Rzucidlo

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Matt Kenseth won the Daytona 500 race for the second time on Monday night. The race was postponed for the first time ever from its usual Sunday timeslot due to rain showers. However, officials finally got the race in and the checkered flag waved at around 1 a.m. on Tuesday. Kenseth's victory was the 300th for his team, Roush Fenway Racing, which is also celebrating its 25th year in motorsports. One day and a few hours later, the driver was celebrating at Pink's Famous Hot Dogs in the Hollywood neighborhood of Los Angeles.

The three participated in a special bowling event at the Lucky Strike Lanes just before the start of the fan event. One day later, he pulled up in a stock car and parked it in front of the NOKIA Plaza in downtown Los Angeles. He addressed his fans and the news media on a special stage that was set up. Earlier in the day, he was bowling with PBA Hall of Famer Parker Bohn III and Auto Club Speedway President Gillian Zucker inside the Lucky Strike Lanes. The driver of the No. 24 stock car for Hendrick Motorsports is a three-time winner at the Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, Calif.

NASCAR's Joey Logano encourages fans to take the Metrolink to the races By Jason Rzucidlo

NASCAR Driver Joey Logano rode the Metrolink from Rancho Cucamonga to L.A. on Wednesday afternoon to chat with fans and the news media. He is encouraging fans to take the train to this weekend's Royal Purple 300 and Auto Club 400 in Fontana, Calif. A special $19 per person discounted roundtrip fare is being offered for Sunday's race. Three special trains will offer service from Oceanside, Oxnard and Lancaster for this program. Then, a free shuttle will be provided to take race fans from the Fontana stop directly to the track.

World renowned knuckleheads Larry, Moe and Curley – The Three Stooges – will serve as Grand Marshals for the Auto Club 400 at Auto Club Speedway on Sunday, March 25 at 12 p.m. PT. As Grand Marshals, The Three Stooges will give the command, “Gentlemen, Start Your Engines,” to the 43-car field of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. The event will be televised at noon on FOX.

Joey Logano wins Royal Purple 300 from the pole at Auto Club Speedway By Jason Rzucidlo

The Middletown, Conn. native returned to victory lane after leading 92 laps in the Royal Purple 300 at Auto Club Speedway (ACS). Joey Logano, 21, brought his No. 18 Translux Toyota into the winner's circle on Saturday afternoon. Logano started the race and won it from the pole in front of an estimated crowd of 40,000. This was Joe Gibbs Racing's eighth consecutive victory in the NASCAR Nationwide series at ACS.

The 2011 Winner of the Auto Club 400 was enshrined into the Fontana, Calif. race track's Walk of Fame on Saturday morning. Kevin Harvick signed his name, car number (29) and pushed both of his feet into the cement. In addition, he was presented a plaque by Auto Club Speedway President Gillian Zucker, which was also cemented in the ground. A large crowd of about 250 fans witnessed the ceremony. The Walk of Fame is located at Gate 12 on the east end of the DiscoverIE FanZone.

Tony Stewart wins Rain-Shortened 16th Annual Auto Club 400

Last year’s Sprint Cup series champion Tony Stewart (No. 14 Office Depot/Mobil 1 Chevrolet) continued his fast start to 2012 as the 40-year-old won his second race of the year capturing the rain-shortened 16th annual Auto Club 400 after 129 laps were completed on Sunday. It was the first Sprint Cup race at Auto Club Speedway to be shortened by weather. The last NSCS race to be stopped short of its scheduled distance was in 2009 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, won by Joey Logano.
