Sensation JoJo to sing National Anthem at Auto Club 400

will entertain race fans with the national anthem prior
to the start of the Auto Club 400.
COUNTY, Calif. – JoJo, the youngest artist to ever
reach #1 at the Top 40 Radio Format and the youngest solo artist
to have a #1 song on Billboard Charts (both at age 13), will perform
the National Anthem prior to the start of the Auto Club 400 at Auto
Club Speedway on Sunday, March 25 at noon PT.
The now 21-year-olds
newest album, her third, Jumping Trains, is scheduled for
release this year.
Named after one of her
favorite songs on the upcoming Interscope Records project, says
JoJo, “moving from Boston to L.A., transitioning from being
a girl to being a young woman, living on my own, taking a different
direction sonically, and just really finding myself and just jumping
into a new chapter of life.”
The pop/R&B singer-songwriter
and actress, born Joanna Noëlle Blagden, is a platinum-selling
sensation whose experience in the music industry dates back to her
appearance on The Oprah Winfrey Show at age 7. She was scouted by
Vincent Herbert, the legendary producer who discovered Lady Gaga.
Since then, JoJo has co-written and recorded 2 critically-acclaimed
JoJo released her self-titled
debut album, in June 2004, which spawned a number-one single on
the Billboard charts for the pop song- "Leave (Get Out)"-
and she became the youngest solo artist to have a number-one single
in the United States at age 13. The song also peaked at No. 12 on
the Billboard Hot 100, and was certified gold by the RIAA. The album
has since sold over 3 million copies worldwide. Her second album,
The High Road, was released in October 2006. The album's lead single,
"Too Little Too Late", was released in August 2006 and
reached number three on the Billboard Hot 100. The single was certified
platinum by the RIAA in March 2007. The album has since sold over
2 million copies worldwide.
Apart from her work in
music, JoJo has also has a career in acting, making her first television
debut in the 2002 American sitcom The Bernie Mac Show, along with
other television appearances in American Dreams (2004), Romeo! (2006).
