John
Hancock All-Star FanFest
There
are tons of activities planned for the John Hancock All-Star FanFest.
It will be loads of fun for everyone from kids to senior citizens.
We are going to outline th entire festival which will be at Cobo
Center from July 8-12, 2005.
What is
it like to be a baseball player? Walk through a real clubhouse
just like the major leaguers do. You can see real lockers for
today's All-Star players. You can explore a real dugout.
Create
your own memorbilia. Get your picture on a Wheaties cereal box
just like the champions do. You can also get your picture on the
cover of Sports Weekly. Make your own baseball card and pose as
a real player. Have your picture placed on the cover of your hometown
newspaper.
There
will be several broadcast studios. Be like the professionals and
announce your own sportscast and be an anchor for "Fox Sports
Net Sports Report." Upon entering the show, you will be greeted
by local radio personalities. Sit at the mic and record your own
play-by-play of a famous moment and take it home on tape.
At the
All-Star Bazaar, you will be able to take home free giveaways
from the sponsors of this wonderful event. If you sign up for
a MBNA MLB MasterCard, you will recieve another FREE gift.
Bring
your kids because this one is for them. They will get a chance
to build their own teddy bear. Use your favorite team uniform
and dress your own stuffed animal. While supplies last. They can
also play the newest MLB video game and computer game.
For those
of you who like hands-on activities, you will love FanFest. You
can test your swinging with the Fanfest batting practice. Try
pitching on the mound in the Fanfest Bullpen. Grab a glove and
try to catch fast balls.
Century
21 is sponsoring the Home Run Derby. They are giving you the chance
to go to home plate and take your shot at hitting a home run.
So long!!! Test your catching skills in the Game Saving Catch
and get a picture to capture the moment.
Visit
the Clubhouse Store to purchase souvenirs from the All-Star Game.
You will also have the chance to bid on special auction items
on Tuesday, July 12th. At the Collector's Showcase you can buy,
sell or trade collectibles.
Each day
of the festival, several baseball players and legends will be
signing FREE autographs for the fans. Of those, Luis Aparico,
Orlando Capeda, Andre Dawson, Bill Freehan, Harmon Killebrew,
Gaylord Perry, Earl Weaver and more.
For those
of your history buffs, you will have lots to see. Take a look
at the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum with artifacts
and photograpghs. Take a look into the Minor League Baseball with
caps from all 160 clubs.
