BROOKLYN,
Mich. -- Like race fans, many NASCAR Sprint Cup
Series drivers are also avid outdoorsman, making the MIS
Cares “Fish Your Bass Off” Tournament the
perfect destination before the Show Me the CARFAX race
weekend.
NASCAR
Sprint Cup drivers Joey Logano and Elliott Sadler, along
with former champion Bobby Allison, will appear at the
Fish Your Bass Off Tournament, which will take place on
Thursday, August 12 at Jerry’s Pub & Restaurant
on scenic Wampler’s Lake just minutes from the speedway.
Fans
are invited to join the festivities at Jerry’s Pub
from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. and may visit the MIS Cares
website at MISpeedway.com/MISCares
to purchase a $35 admission ticket to the event, which
includes dinner.
Festivities
during the fund-raising event will include bass weigh-in,
a question and answer session with Logano and Sadler,
dinner and drinks from a cash bar. The National Bass Anglers
Association will conduct the ever-popular weigh-in of
bass announced by ESPN Outdoors commentator Mark Zona
and professional bass angler Kevin VanDam, both Michigan
natives.
Live
and silent auctions featuring signed NASCAR memorabilia
will be held, with all funds benefiting MIS Cares.
“We’re
extremely excited to have Joey Logano, Elliott Sadler
and Bobby Allison attend our Fish Your Bass Off Tournament,”
MIS Director of Government and Community Affairs Alisha
Cottrell said. “It’s always nice when you
receive support from NASCAR drivers and former champions
for events like this. It’s great for the speedway
and MIS Cares beneficiaries that we help throughout the
year.”
