Carl
Edwards is being interviewed by the media at MIS.
Just how does he do it?
Carl Edwards was born on August 15, 1979 and races in both the Nextel
Cup series and the Busch series. His hometown is Columbia, MO but
he lives in Mooresville, NC.
Edwards is one of the
young faces of NASCAR. Many drivers in this sport are older. In
2004, he won the first race in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck series
at Daytona.
He took time out of his
busy schedule to speak with the media at MIS. He was testing his
car on the track to prepare for the races coming up which are just
one week away. Carl Edwards reports, "We tested great
yesterday. It's fun here."
Edwards was asked about
his recent performace at Brickyard. He responded, "We
ran 12th at Brickyard. I knew we had to have a good day there. We've
accomplished everything except making the top ten."
He was asked how it feels
to have Paul Tracy joining NASCAR for the first time in the upcoming
GFS Marketplace 400. Edwards answers, "I think it be
awesome to have him in NASCAR. He seems like a pretty tough dude."
Our interview was outside
of the garage area in the infield at MIS. The temperate was around
90°. Race car drivers have it even worse. Edwards explains,
"It's 150° where the pedals are."
What do you think about
Tony Stewart who is on top of the points standings in the Nextel
Cup series? Edwards says, "The dude is fast. It says
a lot about his mental toughness. He's been a champion."
Edwards drives the #99
Roush Racing Ford and the #60 Charter Ford. He is expected to race
in both the GFS Marketplace 400 and the Domino's Pizza 250.
Some seats are still available. To order, go to www.mispeedway.com
or call 1-800-354-1010.
A whole weekend of racing
is planned. It all begins on Thursday with ARCA qualifying, the
ARCA 200 race on Friday, The NASCAR Busch Series Domino's Pizza
250 race which includes a concert by Sugarland and Josh Turner and
concludes with the GFS Marketplace 400 race on Sunday.
