Will Light Up the Stage and The Track at the Detroit
Belle Isle Grand Prix
Auto
racing will be just one of the many forms of entertainment
on full display this Labor Day weekend at the
Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix. While the high-speed
activity will be furious on The Raceway at Belle
Isle Park street circuit, the action off the track
will be just as compelling with entertainment
for all ages in the Meijer Family Fun Zone, August
29-31.

Justin
Wilson wins the Detroit Indy Grand Prix after
a controversial call
McDonald's
driver Justin Wilson won his fifth IndyCar/Champ
Car series victory at the Detroit Belle Isle Grand
Prix on Sunday. Helio Castroneves was in the lead
with 17 laps remaining. Officials made the call
that Castroneves was blocking Wilson. Castroneves
was penalized and Wilson was given the lead, which
he kept all the way to the finish.

ever. The race took place at noon on Sunday just
a few hours before the Detroit Indy Grand Prix.
