Bill Engvall To Serve As LifeLock 400 Grand Marshal

Actor
comedian Bill Engvall will serve as grand marshal for
the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series LifeLock 400 on Sunday, June
15 at Michigan International Speedway. Engvall, star of
TBS’s “The Bill Engvall Show,” which
will have its second season premiere on Thursday, June
12 at 9/8c, will give the command to start engines for
the Father’s Day event.
Engvall,
also host of CMT’s “Country Fried Home Videos,”
has appeared on “Blue Collar TV”, a comedy
sketch show based on the “Blue Collar Comedy Tour,
the Movie” in which he starred and solidified his
place as a popular comedic icon.
Engvall
has starred in several movies, including “Delta
Farce” in 2007 with fellow Blue Collar comedian
Larry the Cable Guy. He recently completed work on a movie
with country music star Billy Ray Cyrus entitled “Bait
Shop” which will be released on DVD in September.
“I’m
very excited to be serving as the grand marshal for the
LifeLock 400 at MIS,” Engvall said. “It’s
an honor that I can say the most famous words in motorsports
in front of the great fans of MIS.”
To
celebrate the Army’s 233rd birthday, the U.S. Army
Chorus A Capella Team will be making its second appearance
at MIS during pre-race ceremonies for the LifeLock 400.
The team will sing the “Star-Spangled Banner”
and the Canadian national anthem prior to the LifeLock
400.
In
June 2007, the team performed at MIS for the NASCAR Sprint
Cup Series event and received much fanfare. Due to the
overwhelming comments of support from the fans, the chorus
was asked to come back and perform again for the LifeLock
400.
One
of the members of the Army Chorus’ A Capella Team
is a proud Michigan native. Army Sgt. First Class Cliff
Ogea hails from Ishpeming, in Michigan’s beautiful
Upper Peninsula.
To

June 15 and the 3M Performance 400 on August 17. Other

CARFAX 250 August 16 and the ARCA RE/MAX Series Michigan
