ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Brady Hoke became the third coach since Bo Schembechler 42 years ago to with the first three games, as the Michigan Wolverines defeated the Eastern Michigan Eagles by the score of 31-3 at Michigan Stadium. There were turnovers from both teams in the first quarter: a fumble by Michigan and an interception by EMU, who had two fourth downs to scored touchdowns, but one ended with a field goal at the start of the second, where Michigan took over the game thanks to quarterback Denard Robinson with a 55-yard-run and another run at 21 yards, leading to a nine-yard touchdown pass, and a 11-yard run from him. EMU tried an 50-yard field goal attempt near the end of the first half, but was good, and it was Michigan 14-3. Michigan had the ball through most the third quarter with two strong drives -- including a 19-yard touchdown pass for Louisiana-born Wolverine fan Drew Dileo, and it was 28-3 Wolverines, as EMU remained scoreless for the rest of the game. In the final quarter, Michigan almost had another touchdown drive, but it was ended on a 21-yard field goal. The Wolverines will remain at home when they played against the San Diego State Aztecs next Saturday at 12 noon.
