BROOKLYN, Mich.
— It’s an opportunity of a lifetime for race
fans and all you have to do is renew your tickets or camping for
Michigan International Speedway’s 2012 season and you’re
automatically entered to win!
Last year’s winner Vic Loomis of East Lansing, Mich., will
tell you it’s worth renewing for the 2012 season at MIS whether
you win the Race to Vegas contest or not.
“I was lucky to win the MIS Race to Vegas contest and had
a very enjoyable time at the NASCAR Sprint Cup Awards Ceremony last
year,” Loomis said. “However, I also enjoy renewing
my tickets to MIS every season because it not only guarantees me
the lowest prices the speedway has for next year, but also assures
me that I’m going to definitely be at the races next year,
which is a great experience in itself. I look forward to the MIS
race weekends every year and wouldn’t miss it!”
Loomis, who is a 23-year ticketholder at MIS and mayor of East Lansing,
renewed his 2011 MIS tickets last year and was selected as the winner
of the Race to Vegas contest, which gave him the trip to the NASCAR
Sprint Cup Series Awards Ceremony in Las Vegas.
“Attending all the festivities with MIS President Roger Curtis
was an experience I’ll never forget,” Loomis said. “I
was able to meet many of the Chase drivers from last season and
all of them were very appreciative that fans were getting involved
in the awards ceremonies. MIS does a wonderful job of giving their
fans unforgettable memories, whether it is in Las Vegas for the
NASCAR awards, or during the race weekends through their Fan Appreciation
Program. The fans are the number one priority for MIS and that is
the way it should be in sports today.”
The speedway wants to give another lucky fan this year the opportunity
to attend the awards ceremony in December with Curtis.
One lucky winner who renews for the 2012 season or places a $10
fully refundable deposit at MIS will win a trip for two to the ceremony
in the Race to Vegas contest. The trip includes a four-day/three-night
trip for two to Las Vegas from Nov 30-Dec. 3. The prize includes
round-trip coach airfare and hotel accommodations, and a seat at
the banquet.
“Our customers who renew their tickets or campsite each and
every year are our most loyal fans. This contest is a fun way to
get them excited about renewing for 2012,” Curtis said. “I’m
happy to be able to bring one lucky winner and a guest with me to
the NASCAR Sprint Cup Awards Ceremony for the third straight year.
I had a great time with Mr. Loomis last year and can’t wait
to give another MIS fan the same experience.”
The Sprint Cup Awards Ceremony will be making its third consecutive
appearance in Las Vegas after being held in New York City for decades.
The banquet-style event honors the top-12 drivers who made NASCAR’s
Chase for the Sprint Cup. The event is typically reserved for top
dignitaries of NASCAR, race tracks, race teams and their sponsors.
“In our sport and at MIS, the fans ARE the dignitaries,”
Curtis said. “We truly care about our race fans at MIS and
if we can reward them with a trip to the awards ceremony, I’m
more than happy to have them join me in celebrating NASCAR’s
championship.”
