Magic won't work in Detroit
The Detroit
Pistons finished the NBA’s regular season this week on top
of the Eastern Conference and are set to take on the Orlando Magic
in round one of the 2007 NBA playoffs --- which kicks off Saturday.
The Pistons
gained home court advantage after sweeping the Magic in the regular
season and unfortunately for them, its not Detroit’s only
advantage.
In the past, Chauncey Billups has benefited from the size difference
between he and Magic point guard, Jameer Nelson. Billups averaged
26 points and shot 62% from the floor in their last four match ups.
With the
exception Dwight Howard’s strength and power down low, the
Magic don’t seem to match up very well against the playoff
experienced Pistons. Howard is the only inside presence the magic
have proving depth will be an issue.
Rasheed
Wallace and Chris Webber will start for the Pistons, but Dale Davis,
Antonio McDyess and Jason Maxiell are also available off the bench.
The Pistons
are expected to run away with the series. If they do advance, they
will take on either the defending champion Miami or their historic
rival Chicago.
