Let the Games Begin
It’s time to
gear up for ‘March Madness,’ and AmericaJR is here to
help you with your bracket
There will
certainly be a decline in productivity in American offices Thursday
and Friday as many eyes turn toward the start of the NCAA Tournament.
Popularly
referred to as “March Madness,” anyone who has attempted
to fill out the winning bracket for his or her office pool knows
that this may be the most maddening March of them all.
While tournament
time is certainly regarded as the best time of year for many sports
fans, attempting to pick the winner of this year’s tournament
is a frustrating task.
It’s
safe to say that, realistically, close to 10 teams could easily
be penciled in the champion spot at the middle of the bracket. That’s
what makes this year’s tournament so frustrating, but still
so much more fun.
An argument
could be made that every one and two seed in the tournament has
a shot at winning it all. A case could be made for some three seeds
as well.
Florida,
Kansas, North Carolina, Ohio State, Wisconsin, UCLA, Georgetown,
Memphis, Pitt and Texas A&M. Never has a tournament been so
wide open.
What about
fourth seeded Texas? They have to be thrown in that mix too.
There really
is no clear cut favorite to win this year. Granted you can be sure
there will be a 2007 Cinderella, this year’s George Mason,
it’s safe to say that the winner will probably come from the
group of aforementioned teams.
But at 10
or 11 teams long, that list does little to narrow the field to one
winner.
As you race
to fill out your bracket before the 12:20 tip-off Thursday, here
are picks from the sports staff at AmericaJR.com to help you come
up with the winning bracket for your office pool.
