NCAA Basketball Tournament is
Down to Four
The final
four is set for the NCAA basketball tournament, and with two one
seeds and two number two seeds making it in, it appears that a Cinderella
will miss this year’s ball.
Number two
Georgetown will take on number one Ohio State, and number two UCLA
will play number one Florida on Saturday.
While the
2007 tournament failed to produce a come out of nowhere, underdog
story, the field did see four very good teams move into the semifinals
to provide for three more sure to be great games.
All four
remaining teams in the tourney have defeated good, solid teams along
the way and really leave the championship wide open. The line in
the Georgetown-OSU game on Saturday is currently even, and Florida
is only a three-point favorite.
Both games
also have interesting story lines. Florida and UCLA are set to play
a rematch of last year’s final game, which Florida won to
secure to the national championship.
The game
between OSU and Georgetown will showcase two of the best big men
in the country, with Georgetown’s Roy Hibbert going against
OSU’s freshman sensation Greg Oden.
If you took
AmericaJR’s advice during the tournament preview, then chances
are your bracket is doing pretty well right now, giving you a decent
shot at winning your office pool.
The sports
staff successfully picked three out of the four final teams, and
the final match-up of UCLA and Georgetown is still a very good possibility.
So AmericaJR
is still going with Georgetown to win it all. The
Hoyas looked impressive Sunday after coming back to beat a very
deep North Carolina team in overtime.
If Georgetown
plays this weekend like they did in the second half Sunday, there
isn’t a team left in the tournament that may be able to stop
them.
