ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Akron was close ... yet not close enough to end Michigan's winning streak at home, as the Wolverines remains undefeated at Ann Arbor Saturday by the tight score of 28-24.

With turnovers/interceptions, one fumble, a failed attempt of a 45-yard field goal and a scoreless second quarter, fans were literally going blue throughout the game.

However, the Wolverines began to find their footing in the third quarter thanks to Fitz Toussaint, followed by a 36-yard touchdown run from Devin Gardner and one from Jehu Chesson (his first career TD) that gave Michigan a 21-10 lead.

Still, the final quarter belonged to Akron with an interception that led to not one but two touchdowns that put Michigan in a three-point deficit, but Gardner led to a drive that included a 35-yard run, a 20-yard pass, and a pass interference that led to a 2-yard TD run.

As said in the beginning, Akron was close in its final drive to break their losing record on the road, but wasn't meant to be, as Michigan's winning home streak extends to 17.

Next up: The Wolverines will face Connecticut on Saturday at 8 p.m. in a nationally televised game on ABC.
