THIS WEEK'S ANSWERS

1. Mesa Verde National Park, in southwestern Colorado -- site of prehistoric cliff dwellings and other ruins of the ancestral Puebloans.

2. The first -- George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, and James Monroe.

3. A treelike cactus that looks cuddly but has nasty spines that detach easily. It is also known as the silver cholla and the teddy bear cactus.

4. Roy Lichtenstein. The 1965 painting is of an angry dog.

5. White--Polo White, to be exact. Other colors were made available the following year.
