AmericaJR.com’s Jason Rzucidlo reports from downtown Palm Springs, Calif. where Detroit’s own singer/actress/author/minister Della Reese was honored with a star on the Walk of Stars. Reese started singing at the young age of six, attended Cass Tech High School and later studied psychology at Wayne State University. Fellow stars Roma Downey, Diane Ladd and Susan Stafford were also on hand to offer their congratulations. You’ll also hear from Claudia Thompson, who did hair and make-up for Reese on a TV pilot and huge fan Lon McCoy who was choked up during the ceremony. Reese’s star is located at 515 N. Palm Canyon Dr. across from the historic Palm Canyon Theatre in Palm Springs, California.
