AmericaJR.com’s Jason Rzucidlo was LIVE at the California Center for the Arts, Escondido for their annual Día de los Muertos Festival. It was presented by the Crescentera Foundation. Activities included making your own altar, selecting a square and leaving offerings such as photographs, mementos and flowers in memory of loved ones. In addition, there was Family Arts Projects, Live Entertainment, Traditional Refreshments, Pan Dulce & Mexican Hot Chocolate and Performances by Ballet Folklórico Tierra Caliente. Designing your own sugar skulls was the most popular art project with lines up to an hour! Day of the Dead (Spanish: Día de Muertos) is a Mexican holiday focusing on gatherings of family and friends to pray for and remember friends and family members who have died, and help support their spiritual journey.
Special thanks to the California Center for the Arts, Escondido for allowing us to photograph their museum exhibition.
