AmericaJR.com’s Jason Rzucidlo reports from the Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center for the 40th Annual Automotive News World Congress. In this video, watch for remarks from Mr. John Krafcik, CEO of the Google Self-Driving Car Project. He was formerly CEO of Hyundai Motor America. Krafcik says that the Google Car will make an automobile available to everyone–even those who are disabled or unable to drive. He says the Google team has been hard at work building the software for autonomous vehicles for the last seven years. “We’re pretty confident that our car can handle the majority of usual or unusual situations.” The technology company is currently testing the Google Car in Austin, Texas and Mountain View, California. Krafcik says Google has totaled 1.3 million miles autonomously so far.
