DETROIT — Dr. Oz will be just one of the celebrities making special appearances and signing autographs at WXYZ-TV Channel 7 Family Day at NAIAS on Friday, Jan. 22 at Cobo Center. Channel 7 has a full lineup of celebrities and family activities planned for the day – starting at 11 a.m. The activities, located in Cobo Center’s Atrium, are free and run until 7 p.m.
Dr. Oz will conduct two on-stage demonstrations – at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Both events are free and open to the public. Dr. Oz will also be on hand to sign autographs for visitors during the day.
Jesse Palmer from ABC’s “Good Morning America” will be broadcasting live on GMA from the auto show and will be onsite at the Family Day festivities to meet fans and sign autographs. Judge Lauren Lake, a Detroit native and host of “Paternity Court,” will also be featured and available to greet fans.
For motorsports enthusiasts, several drivers from the Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix will be at Family Day and will participate in a question-and-answer session at noon, hosted by Channel 7’s own Brad Galli. Drivers expected to be in attendance include:
- Scott Dixon – 2015 Verizon IndyCar Series Champion
- Sebastien Bourdais – 2015 Chevrolet Dual in Detroit Presented by Quicken Loans winner
- Christian Fittipaldi – 2015 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Prototype Champion
- Joao Barbosa – 2015 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship Prototype Champion
In addition to the racing fun, Sesame Street Live characters will be there to entertain as will the Detroit Academy of Arts and Science choir and drum line.
Fans will also get a chance to meet their favorite Channel 7 Action News personalities throughout the day.
Detroit Tigers Baseball Fever Comes to NAIAS
The 2016 Detroit Tigers Winter Caravan will be stopping at NAIAS on Friday, Jan 22 at 2:45 p.m. to spread baseball fever to fans of all ages. Detroit’s favorite mascot PAWS is set to join in the fun.
Players will participate in a roundtable question-and-answer session, open to the public, in the Chevrolet display. They will also be featured in the daily “Cars on Parade” auto show parade.
