AmericaJR.com’s Gloria Rzucidlo was LIVE in downtown Detroit to check on the progress of the new QLINE (formerly known as the M-1 Rail project). Most of the construction work is focused on the area in and around Campus Martius Park on the southern portion of the rail line. Work is also underway in the Midtown area near Wayne State University. One lane of traffic will remain open in each direction along Woodward Avenue during construction. The entire QLINE project is expected to be complete by the fall with streetcar testing getting underway in the winter. Then, the first riders will be able to board the QLINE in the beginning of 2017.
