Hugh Jackman tweets the title of his final Wolverine film

On Wednesday, Hugh Jackman announced on his Twitter page that he will play Marvel’s the Wolverine “one last time” as “Logan”.

Not only is Logan the mutant superhero’s name, but it will be the official title of the third and final standalone Wolverine film that will have Jackman hanging up his claws after over a decade and a half: making the actor the best at playing a superhero this long – especially one like the Wolverine, who is the best at what he does … even what he does isn’t always very nice.

Jackman has been at the heart and center of the X-Men franchise since the beginning in the summer of 2000, where Logan/Wolverine chose the right side in the war that was coming days of future past.  The most difficult student Charles Xavier/Professor X (James McAvoy, Sir Patrick Stewart) ever had, Logan/Wolverine becomes a member of the X-Men, whose mission is to bring peaceful co-existence between mutants and humans: fighting to protect a world that fears and hates them against Erik Lensherr/Magneto (Michael Fassbender, Sir Ian McKellen) and his Brotherhood of Mutants, who believes that mutants are the better man, that they are the future, and that no humans no longer matter.

“Logan” is set for March 3, 2017.
