The “living weapon” known as Marvel’s “Iron Fist” has been unleashed onto the world in the teaser trailer shown at the 2016 New York Comic-Con (NYCC), where fans finally also saw the formation of Marvel’s “The Defenders” for the first time: Charlie Cox as Daredevil, Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones, Mike Colter as Luke Cage, and now Finn Jones completing the line-up as Iron Fist.
Returning home to New York after several years, Daniel Rand may be a billionaire reclaiming what’s rightfully his, but he is also a billionaire with a “purpose” of becoming a kung-fu superhero. Co-starring Jessica Henwick as Colleen Wing and Rosario Dawson as night nurse Claire Temple, Marvel’s “Iron Fist” debuts March 17, 2017 on Netflix. And come sometime in 2017, Marvel’s “The Defenders” will come together to save New York – and possibly themselves – against someone known for defending the world: Sigourney Weaver, aka the fearless and strong-willed outer-space heroine Ellen Ripley from the “Alien” franchise. It was announced at the NYCC that Weaver will join Marvel’s “The Defenders” as the main villain.
