Infiniti introduces the QX50 concept at NAIAS in Detroit

DETROIT — Infiniti President Roland Krueger held a news conference on Monday at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.  He talked about the new QX50 Crossover Concept which he says is a brand shaper.  “In just three months, it outperformed its competitors.  This confirms that Infiniti is a luxury performance brand,” says Krueger.

The VC (variable compression) Turbo engine can change the compression seamlessly.  The first production engine that continuously transforms on demand.  Low compression for more power.  High compression for greater efficiency.  The multilink design contracts when you press down on the accelerator pedal.  Combustion chamber expands.  This engine will come out in about a year from now.

The QX50 is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter, inline-4 cylinder engine.  “It is the most advanced powertrain leader in its segment.  I asked about the mileage.  They informed us that they don’t know yet, it’s too new.   “The exterior focused headlights gives the car an intense look and feel.  It also gives the car a commanding presence,” Krueger explained.

The interior has premium leather and the dashboard controls are angled towards the driver.  In the center of it all, there is a seven-inch display audio system.

“Infiniti was one of the leaders in autonomous driving.  Q50 is one of the very few vehicles than can be driven autonomously.  It incorporates a safer, more productive drive.  It has an outstanding design and state of the art features,” added Krueger.

“Infiniti gained momentum with its daring design.  Our vision is to carry Infiniti forward,” says Krueger.
