AmericaJR’s Jason Rzucidlo was LIVE at the University of Michigan for their Bicentennial celebration. “Student Reflections: A Retrospective of Dental Education” is now on display inside the The Sindecuse Museum of Dentistry. The new exhibit dates to the late 1880s when “new technology” meant primitive gas lamps replaced window light, which from the founding of the school in 1875 was the only way students and faculty could see to operate on their patients. Every era of student life has had its quirks and consistencies as dental education evolved over the decades. Historical artifacts, photos and stories showcase changes in students, tools and technology on U-M’s journey from its pioneering early days to its standing today as one of the top dental schools in the world.
