“Welcome to the frickin’ Guardians of the Galaxy”
The 60-second Super Bowl teaser trailer of Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2” shows that the titular intergalactic outlaw (anti-)superheroes have something in common with rock supergroup Fleetwood Mac: no matter how many times they fight, no matter how many times they hate each other, “The Chain” will always keep them together ,,, no matter what. “The Chain” is one of the songs from “Rumours”, which was released forty years ago in 1977 and ended up becoming Fleetwood Mac’s most successful and influential album: winning the 1978 Grammy for Album of the Year.
It is no rumor that Yondu (Michael Rooker) and Nebula (Karen Gillian) will be fighting alongside Star-Lord (Peter Quill), Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Rocket Raccoon (Bradley Cooper), Drax the Destroyer (Dave Bautista), and Baby Groot (Vin Diesel) rather than against them – this time -, as the Guardians will be running in the shadows of the cosmos: continuing their mission of protecting the entire galaxy by doing “something good” … and “something bad”. The Guardians will be joined by Mantis (Pom Klementieff).
Co-starring Kurt Russell and Nathan Fillion, Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2” will be blasting into theaters on May 5.
