“Fast and Furious” star Scott Eastwood named Grand Marshal for Auto Club 400

FONTANA, Calif.  –  Scott Eastwood, star of the upcoming “FAST AND FURIOUS: The Fate of the Furious,” has been named Grand Marshal for the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Auto Club 400 on March 26, 2017 at Auto Club Speedway.

As Grand Marshal, Eastwood will give the command “Drivers, start your engines” to the field at Southern California’s premier motorsports facility.  The event will be televised on FOX at 12:30 p.m. PT.

As an Honorary Race Official, Eastwood will be involved with pre-race ceremony activities including driver introductions and special NASCAR awards.

Directed by F. Gary Gray, Eastwood will join co-stars Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, and Charlize Theron for the film, which will be released April 14, 2017. He is currently filming Legendary / Universal Pictures’ “Pacific Rim 2” alongside John Boyega. The film is directed by Steven S DeKnight and will be released in February 2018.

His most recent projects include David Ayer’s DC Comics film “Suicide Squad” alongside Will Smith and Jared Leto, and Oliver Stone’s biographical drama “Snowden” (Open Road) in which he starred alongside Shailene Woodley, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zachary Quinto.

In 2015, Eastwood co-starred alongside Britt Robertson as champion bull-rider ‘Luke Collins’ in the romantic drama “The Longest Ride,” based on the novel by Nicholas Sparks. He also appeared opposite Brad Pitt and Shia LaBeouf in the war drama “Fury” for director David Ayer.

His other film credits include “Gran Torino,” “Invictus” and “Flags of Our Fathers.”
