The game started off as a no-hitter for Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander. That was up until the top of the sixth inning when former Tiger and newly-acquired Dodger Curtis Granderson scored a home run. At the bottom of the sixth, Dixon Machado scored a home run for the Tigers and brought in two runners with him. Then, Justin Upton scored a home run making the score 4-1 at the bottom of the sixth. Miguel Cabrera hit a double in the eighth inning to bring home Ian Kinsler and JaCoby Jones. The Tigers snapped a 6-game losing steak with a win over the No. 1 team in baseball, the L.A. Dodgers.
