It takes a monster to stop a monster
Like Logan/Wolverine of the mutant superhero team X-Men, Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) is the best at what she does. What she does, though, isn’t always very nice, for “Jessica Jones” is never a very nice person. In fact, both the first season and Marvel’s “The Defenders” shows her bad reputation as a hard-drinking, short-fused hot mess of a smart-a** resourceful private investigator.
However, whereas Logan/Wolverine drinks to remember, “Jessica Jones” drinks to forget, as the trailer for the new season demonstrates. After taking down Kilgrave (David Tennant) first and saving New York City next alongside Matt Murdock/Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Luke Cage (Mike Colter) and Danny Rand/Iron Fist (Finn Jones), Jessica is still not interested in the “H” word, much less being the “H” as well as being known as a “super-vigilante”. But, like it or not, that is who is Jessica Jones has become: a super-powered vigilante superhero, a founding member of the super-powered vigilante superhero team known as the Defenders.
Now, this season will explore as to how and why Jessica Jones became that way, as she sets to unlock the door that may holds the key to unlocking the mysteries of her past. But doing so could make her into a “ticking time bomb”, which may be all the more reason for her sister Trish (Rachael Taylor) to step in and become her sidekick.
The new season of Marvel’s “Jessica Jones” premieres March 8 on Netflix. In the meantime, you can stream and watch the entire first season right now.
